Happy Mother’s Day – A Mother Apart Will Be Screening at the Inside Out Film Festival

Happy Mother’s Day!

We’re inviting you and your Mother, Grandmother, or Mother Figure to watch “A Mother Apart” at its next screening on June 1st at the Inside Out Film and Video Festival.

A Mother Apart is a remarkable story of healing and forgiveness that follows Jamaican-American poet and LGBTQ+ activist Staceyann Chin as she searches for her Mother. It’s a story we believe audiences should watch with a loved one.

This beautiful documentary film was directed by OYA Emerging Filmmakers Mentor, Laurie Townshend and co-produced by our founders Ngardy Conteh George and Alison Duke.

We’re so proud of the part our alumni played in contributing to the development of this film.

Fonna Seidu – Production Manager
Folasewa Babalola – Assistant Production Coordinator, Additional Research

This film is a OYA Media Group and National Film Board of Canada co-production
