OBAC Programs
OYA Emerging Filmmakers
Through our Emerging Filmmakers program, we provide essential mentorship, networking, and skills training to kickstart careers for recent graduates. Building on our success, we now support mid-career filmmakers, fostering project development, production, and distribution.
OYA Career Leap
Career Leap is an innovative program that provides work placement opportunities for Black filmmakers (ages 18-34, residing in the GTHA) to satisfy union eligibility requirements and advance their careers. This program also matches successful participants with industry mentors to enhance their workplace training with veteran insight, refine their soft skills, and expand their professional networks ahead of the career leap of applying to a union.
OYA Career Bridge
Career Bridge is a dynamic program that equips young Black filmmakers in the GTHA with the tools for success. With guidance from industry experts, this program helps you create an expertly designed pitch deck and participants have the opportunity to receive funding to create a professional proof of concept.
